MRI scanning is painless and involves no x-ray radiation.
The image and resolution produced by MRI is detailed enough to help detect tiny changes of structures within the body. For some procedures, contrast agents, such as gadolinium, are used to increase the accuracy of the images.
An MRI scan can be used as an extremely accurate method of disease detection throughout the body and is most often used after the other testing methods fails to provide sufficient information to confirm a patient's diagnosis. In the head, trauma to the brain can be considered as bleeding or swelling. Other abnormalities often found include brain aneurysms, stroke, tumors of the brain, as well as tumors or inflammation of the spine.
Neurosurgeons use an MRI scanning not only in defining brain anatomy but in evaluating the integrity of the spinal cord after trauma. It is also used when diagnosing problems associated with the vertebrae or inter-vertebral discs of the spine.
An MRI scan can help cardiologists to evaluate the structure of the heart and aorta, where it can detect aneurysms or tears. It provides valuable information on glands and organs within the abdomen, and accurate information about the structure of the joints, soft tissues, and bones of the body. Often, trauma, orthopaedic and oncological surgery could be deferred or more accurately directed after knowing the results of an MRI scan.
Why MRI instead of mammogram?
MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) is a noninvasive imaging technique that does not use ionizing radiation, and there are no known side effects.
MRI is a safe, painless, and potentially one of the most accurate, non-invasive procedures available to obtain images of the body.
It combines a powerful magnet with an advanced computer system and radio waves to product accurate, detailed pictures of organs and tissues to diagnose a variety of medical conditions and guide patient care. It can identify and locate the presence of, and complications from Crohn's disease and other inflammatory diseases. A MRI uses strong magnets instead of radiation to make very detailed, cross-sectional pictures of the body. An MRI scan take pictures from many angles, as if someone were looking at a slice of your body from the front, from the side, or from above your head. MRI creates pictures of soft tissue parts of the body that are sometimes hard to see using other imaging tests.
Breast MRI enables dedicated bilateral best imaging with the possibility of breast spectroscopy and in combination with conventional mammography ultrasound mammography provides an excellent platform to image and detect breast cancer pathology at an early stage.
It can effectively screen for breast tumors in high-risk populations, such as women with a strong family history of breast cancer or women who have had cancer before. It offers improvements over mammography for women with dense breast tissue and can be used to check for breast implant leakage. It aids pre-surgical planning and evaluation for breast tumors and can detect unsuspected cancer in the other breast.
Where is your show case / imaging centre?
Currently we have 3 machines installed in Hong Kong, and scheduled installations in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and USA as well.
Can we customized accessories?
We are happy to accommodate your requirements, please contact our sales team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Why do pets need MRI?
Pets are important members of your loving family. MRI is a highly technical and complex imaging modality that enables to viewing of the soft tissue structures more accurately. It is also non-radiative than other more common and less complex modalities such as X-ray and CT. Common regions of imaging for animals include; brain, spinal cord, sinus cavities, joints, muscles, abdomen and lungs. With certified veterinary anesthesiologists and radiologists present, MRI imaging provides veterinarians with all the needed information to safely and accurately diagnose and treat your pet.
How do you prepare companion pets for the MRI appointment?
Veterinary MRI is an anesthetic procedure; a certified anesthesiologists at an MRI clinic is needed to safely oversee all of the MRI procedures. As with any general anesthesia, the patient/pet should not eat ANYTHING after their last regular evening meal. Patients/pets may have water until they arrive at the facility.
